Fonts - Noto Sans Egyptian Hieroglyphs (Google Noto project), SIL Open Font License 1.1. Used to render the hieroglyph sign images in /vr/glyphs and the teaching-wall texture. - Arabic lettering in the 3D scenes uses the visitor's own system fonts at runtime. 4. Software - three.js (MIT License) - https://threejs.org - MediaPipe Tasks Vision + Selfie Segmenter model (Apache License 2.0) - https://ai.google.dev/edge/mediapipe Runs entirely on the device. The camera image never leaves the phone. 5. Midan-made (original work by Midan Shady, all rights reserved) - Procedural textures: red granite (King's Chamber), water normals, glyph teaching wall, LED floor, dial faces, cloth, lace, neon signs, star ceiling, painted frieze, painted tomb reliefs (hieroglyph columns set in Noto Sans Egyptian Hieroglyphs, SIL Open Font License), suradeq tent cloth, dance floor and smudge maps, LED video-wall content, DJ booth lettering, torch and lamp flames (GPU particles). - Procedural geometry: Grand Gallery, King's Chamber, felucca, date palms, tomb, wedding kosha dressing and drapery, drums, shamadan, radio cabinet, dance floor, DJ booth, CDJ decks and mixer, speaker stacks, lighting truss and moving heads, festoon lights, wedding tent, plastic chairs, broken-corner sarcophagus, tomb torches and oil lamps. - Nile Journey (procedural): Cairo skyline and corniche, Giza plateau and pyramids, Luxor Temple (pylon, obelisk, colossi, colonnades, Abu el-Haggag mosque), Theban hills, Karnak pylon, Philae's Temple of Isis and Trajan's Kiosk, Aswan granite islands, Nubian village (painted facades), feluccas, cruise boats, hot-air balloons, river lanterns and floodlights, moon, underwater riverbed with reeds, fish (tilapia, Nile perch, catfish) and a Nile crocodile, caustics and light-shaft shaders. - All audio: synthesized live in the browser with the Web Audio API (river ambience, frame drums, tabla, mizmar, ney, oud/qanun plucks, mahraganat beats, radio stations). No samples or recordings of any existing song are used. Every station on the Midan radio is Midan-made. - Spoken lessons and the radio's artist stories use the device's own text-to-speech voice. The artist stories are original text written by Midan from public facts. 6. Third-party players (not hosted by Midan) - The radio's artist stations can open the artist's official Spotify artist player (open.spotify.com/embed) or official YouTube channel uploads (youtube-nocookie.com/embed), or link out to Spotify / YouTube. These play from Spotify / YouTube under their own terms, load only after the listener taps, and no recording is stored or served by Midan. 7. Passport Wheel: Landing (photographs from Wikimedia Commons) Each landing stop is a real photograph, shown full-screen in 3D (wrapped on a curved wall, or as a full 360-degree sphere for Tokyo Station). Credited on screen at every stop and on the credits page of the in-app passport. Images were resized and converted to WebP; the Khan el-Khalili photo is cropped at the bottom to remove the camera date stamp.
