Walk with me through a crack in the mountain. Petra was the capital of the Nabataeans, desert traders who carved a city into rose-colored sandstone in southern Jordan. We will follow the Siq, trace how they caught every drop of rain, sit in their theater, and look out over the roads that paid for it all.
