Sports and entertainment items are headlines with an optional short snippet and outbound links. We never republish full articles.
Desk Access
Club members can open Desk Access to make the desk easier to use — larger text, stronger contrast, bigger buttons, and other private choices. It is included in the club. It is not a diagnosis and not medical advice.
Tutor
Subjects: Algebra, English writing, Languages, Science, History, Geometry, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Creative Writing, Literature, Psychology, Statistics, Trigonometry, Earth Science, Environmental Science, Economics, Government & Civics, World Geography, Computer Science, Health, and Music Theory. The coach will not write your essay, dump homework answers, finish a graded translation, or build your app. Health is school literacy — no diagnosis and no medical advice. Economics and civics are taught, not hyped: no stock tips and no campaigning. It will offer an outline and questions so you still do the work — in English, Spanish, Arabic, French, Russian, Polish, Ukrainian, Chinese (Simplified), Albanian, German, Italian, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, Bengali, Urdu, Turkish, Korean, Hindi, Vietnamese, Greek, or Tagalog. We do not train models on member chats. Session transcripts are stored only so you can finish a session on Midan Shady Sphere. They are not exported to training datasets.
Midan Daily
Midan Daily is the Question of the Day room for Midan Shady Sphere. Guests may peek at today’s prompt and two or three sample picks. The full midan — both the American lane and the Heritage lane, replies, and history — is for club members (16+). We block empty spam. We do not ship pile-on tools in v1.
Midan Fusion
Midan Fusion is a Midan Shady Sphere room for singing popular songs solo or in duet, mixing English with a mother tongue. Club members own their performances. We store links and captions only — not first-party commercial audio files. Link karaoke or instrumentals you have rights to use. Guests may peek at the featured challenge and a couple of sample clips; posting, claiming duet seats, and Heard reacts stay inside the club.
Midan Micro-gigs
Midan Micro-gigs is a Midan Shady Sphere noticeboard for short paid favors on four founder boards: bilingual caption, recipe card, playlist swap, and menu photo run. Club members post and claim. Guests may peek at one or two sample gigs. Price bands are $5, $10, or $25. v1 has no escrow — payment is arranged between members (club-side) or Stripe later. Marking Delivered only closes the notice. This is not a homework desk and not a costume-kit marketplace. Ages 16+.
Support Local
Support Local is a curated desk of Egyptian and Arab American–owned businesses. We only list shops we can cite from public sources. Verified listing is free. Optional Boost is featured placement for a set window; it does not buy a listing or publish a suggestion. Member suggestions are stored; they are not published as live listings until a human verifies them. Home city is optional and stored on the member profile and/or in the browser.
Shady Desk Money
Money is a fifteen-lesson literacy path. Lessons 1–6 are included in club membership. Money Path Pass is a $25 one-time unlock for lessons 7–15 (lifetime on the member account, not a subscription). The desk is education only — not financial advice, not investment advice, and not a bank product. We do not tell members to buy or sell securities, chase guaranteed returns, or join a specific bank or credit union. A future “Brought with…” sponsor line may name a real partner; we will not invent one.
Studio, Showcase, Desk Challenge & journal
Journal posts are members-only and follow a template: what you tried, what broke, what you learned. Showcase is where finished loops hang — practice, portfolio, or might-license-later for creative files only, never securities tips. Lesson 1 is complete; later lessons are titled so the path is honest. Desk Challenge is a study room with honor-system scoring — quiz boards or Name That Face, solo, same-device compete, or a signed-in online room for boards. It is a club quiz room, not a licensed TV format, and not a contest for cash. Face portraits are Wikimedia Commons stills stored on this site, with credit after reveal.
Your posts
You keep ownership of what you post — Midan Daily answers, Fusion clips and captions, Micro-gigs briefs and deliverables, Exchange listings, journal notes, Showcase loops, and the rest of your square. Midan Shady Sphere does not claim your personal stories, recipes, or clips. By posting, you give the club a non-exclusive license to host, display, and promote that work inside Midan Shady Sphere and in marketing for the club — not a transfer of ownership.
Do not post other people's copyrighted material — songs, photos, logos — without permission. Fusion covers are your responsibility: only link karaoke or instrumentals you have the right to use. This is practical club language for members 16+, not a lawyer letter, and we may update it.
Challenge brackets
Bracket weekends are a skill-based club event, not a lottery and not gambling. Club members may pay a $7 one-time entry to play a scored ladder on Desk Challenge boards. Prizes are merch (for example a sticker or tee mention) and/or one free club month. There are never cash prizes. If a weekend is cancelled, paid entries are credited as one club month in the club ledger; when Stripe is live the host also refunds the $7 Payment from the Stripe Dashboard.
